A twenty-something attempting to remain connected.
I’ve nearly forgotten the things I’m passionate about outside of my profession. Historically, it’s been creative writing, visual art, walking, and creating content.
Since moving into the working years of my life, I’ve been fixated on one thing and have started losing myself to “the grind.” This blog is an effort to return to form and reestablish balance in the chaos.
Nowadays I spend my time reading, attempting to return to writing, and jogging. I’ll explore my local area and have become something of a foodie, though I’m not above a pack of ramen.
I plan to post whatever suits my fancy, whether that be fiction, writing about writing, or varying opinions.
A timeline of this blog
2020: This blog was established. I was fifteen and wanted to carve out my own corner of the internet. I was super excited at the prospect of sharing short stories, expanding on opinion pieces, and expressing myself.
2021: Abandoned for 10 months, then I remembered that this blog exists.
Dec, 2021: Published a short story: The Stolen Dagger.
2022: The golden year. A fire was lit, so to speak, and I was a posting machine. I was fully integrated in an Instagram writing community, and many posts from this year were integrated with said community.
2023: ??? (graduated high school)
2024: ???? (I was in a fight with college and college was winning)
2025: ????? (got lost, I presume)
2026: Still here. Uncertain of what this blog will evolve into, but I have a renewed passion for expressing myself creatively.
I published a short story
In 2021, an experiment in publishing was enacted. I wrote a short story and convinced myself to publish it so that in the future, I would have a better grasp on the process.
A passion project, The Misadventures of Montoya and Rose, was the center of this experiment. Fueled by my friends on Instagram, I went through the process of refining, editing, and eventually publishing this Christmas-themed short story.
